For more than 25 years, I, like many women, had the great privilege of being both a mom and a working professional. While there were certainly times when I wished I could focus my energies on one or the other, the reality for me was that my experience in Corporate America helped me to be a better mother.

This was partly due to my career choice of branding, marketing, and communication which translates to reputation management, presentation skills, and learning how best to play to your personal strengths – all areas in which my kids could benefit. In addition, my corporate roles exposed me to a wealth of coaching and training in areas like Conflict Resolution, Crucial Conversations, Leadership Development, Dealing with Difficult People, and more.

Through my role as a parent, volunteer, and confidante to many teens, I discovered a unique perspective which allowed me to transfer significant learnings in my professional life to the benefit of these youth. My desire to turn those one-to-one interactions into a more formal training program led to the founding of Fish Genius.

While our curriculum continues to develop, our coaching and training today centers around these key areas:

• Managing Money – simple strategies for budgeting and saving your money
• Effective Communications - writing and speaking to impress
• Resolving Conflict – learn how to approach difficult people, situations, and conversations
• The Psychology of Self-Defense - making better (aka, smarter) choices to keep you safe
• Personal Branding – understanding how to build (or damage) your reputation
• Job Search Skills – moving beyond the keyboard to find your next job
